China-Nepal highway reopens after quake damage

China's armed police removed quake debris blocking the highway between China's Jilong and Nepal's Kathmandu Wednesday, after an 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal April 25. It is the second highway between China and Nepal to be reopened after the earthquake.Local authorities and people applauded China's efforts to help with the reconstruction work.The Jilong-Kathmandu Highway is 132 kilometers in length, and parts of it suffered severe damage during the earthquake. The Chinese armed police began to clear the Jilong-Kathmandu Highway May 11. After ten days' work, the highway reopened Wednesday afternoon, following the reopening of the Zham-Kathmandu highway on Sunday. - CCTV NEWS (you tube channel)
