Police recovered the key of that lock from her private part. The belt was discovered after the woman, Sitabai Chouhan, tried to poison herself and wound up in a hospital. Doctors uncovered the device while examining her.
Authorities had to track down her husband to unlock the device. He is said to carry the key in his socks. The reason behind he wanted his wife to be loyal to him.
He had been doing this for 4 years. He said “I was afraid she would run away from the house. That’s why I had been locking her for the past 3 years. I would lock her up every day.” Her husband, who works as a mechanic, admitted that he drilled holes into her at home four years ago. Every morning, before leaving for work, he would insert the lock, taking his key with him. The couple had been married for 19 years and has five children.
