Shridhar Chillal has been growing his nails for 62 years. He appears in the Guinness World Records 2016 book with the record title for longest fingernails on a single hand ever. An Indian guy Shridhar has not cut the fingernails on his left hand since 1952 and they now have a cumulative length of 358.1 inches, almost as long as his body. The most impressive is his thumbnail which measures an unbelievable 197.8 cm and curls into a tight coil at the end.

78-year-old Chilaal said that he was inspired by his teacher who used to keep long nails. His teacher used to have long nails back then and when he and his friends broke that nail of teacher they he gave them a serious punishment and even beat them. Then he wanted to grow longer nails than his teacher that’s why he didn’t cut his nails.

The nails are very long and very weak and there is risk of breaking it that’s why he cares it very nicely while sleeping and even it is difficult for him to do the normal works. Because of the long nail it’s really difficult for him even to walk and he gets exhausted even after walking just 30min.
